Celebrity Crushing…
So, who are we crushing on lately? For my daughters, it’s this guy:
Timmy! He’s super cute in Dune 2 in that scrawny young thang sort of way. I loved the movie, BTW, and Timothee’s performance was stellar. (You get to see a lot more of Zendaya in this movie, too.)
I was also happy to hear that this guy was back on his feet after that terrible snowplow accident on New Year’s Day:
Jeremy Renner has had a long, painful road, but he is a determined person and has his family beside him. He’s even just released a new album, Love and Titanium, with songs about his struggle.
And then there’s this guy, who I just can’t seem to get enough of:
Was that too much Ryan Gosling? Maybe that was too much Ryan Gosling.
Oh, who are we kidding? There can NEVER be too much Ryan Gosling! Every day I count the minutes until I can see the Barbie movie again, and, yes, it was a bummer that he was the only one who got an award, but I would not take that award away from him; he was more than Kenough. He was Kensational!
Publishing news…
We’re now officially a year out from publication of CELEBRITY CRUSH! My editor, Alex, has promised me edits this month. Next month will be the cover reveal! I’ll also be handing over CELEBRITY CRUSH: INCOGNITO (the second book in my 2-book series) to my editor as soon as my critique partners finish it. The good news is, they’re laughing a lot and have (mostly) good things to say. Here’s a sneak peak:

Shameez Patel Papathanasiou
I want you all to meet Shameez! We are unlikely kindred souls who found each other when we were signed by the same agent and got picked up by the same editor at the same imprint! Shameez’s geeky romcom PLAYING FLIRTY launches at the same time as CELEBRITY CRUSH, and since our books are both funny, smart, nerdy romcoms, we’ll be doing some cross-promoting.
Shameez lives all the way on the other side of the world (South Africa), which is sad because otherwise I’d invite her over for games night. Here’s a little taste of PLAYING FLIRTY.
Other February Happenings…
Went to Savannah for a writer retreat. It was relaxing and perfect.
Celebrated a bunch of family birthdays, including two of my daughters, who turned 19 and 17. (My 17-year-old was born on Valentine’s Day!)
Found out we need to replace our entire septic system (yes, the drain field, too). Homeownership sucks.
Launched a subscription platform for my sci-fi/fantasy pen name, C.P. Swift, on Ream and Patreon. If fantasy’s your thing, sign up for one or the other to read my serialized novel based on the board game Rolling Empires.
